Luci studies are conducted in collaboration with the Centre de recherche de l’Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal (CRIUGM).

The science behind Luci

We are conducting a three-phase scientific study to validate the effectiveness of the Luci program:

  1. Proof of concept (completed in 2021): This first phase demonstrated that the Luci program could bring about significant change in the lifestyle habits of study participants in each of the three program domains (healthy eating, physical activity and intellectual stimulation).

  2. Feasibility study (completed in July 2022): The second phase aimed to verify whether the Luci multidomain intervention can be conducted on a large scale. Preliminary results indicate that the success criteria were reached for the five targets defined in the research protocol: recruitment, enrolment, retention, intervention compliance, and attrition rates. The results also suggest that the intervention had positive effects on participants’ lifestyle habits.
  3. Efficacy study (planned for 2023): The last phase of the study will enable us to determine, based on a very large group of participants, whether the program leads to significant changes in their lifestyle habits, therefore decreasing their risk of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

User tests

What are they?

In addition to the validation study, we are looking for volunteers to test new features in the Luci App on an ongoing basis.

With your feedback, our team can improve the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) of the platform. Our goal? To make it even more user-friendly and accessible!
